Nano stretch film, sometimes called nano pallet wrap, is one of the biggest changes in pallet wrapping in recent years. If you’ve been offered it and want to know what it actually is, and whether it would work on your pallets, this guide explains it in plain English.
What is nano stretch film?
Nano stretch film is machine stretch film made from many ultra-thin layers co-extruded together. Instead of relying on one thick film for its strength, it builds strength from layers.
How layering makes a thin film stronger
Layering gives a thin film more strength and stretch than a conventional film. In practice, that means you can use a thinner film, stretch it further and still hold the load securely.
Our Nanofilm range is built from 67 nano-layers, from 10 microns thin, with stretch of up to 380%.
What it means for your pallets
- Containment: high holding force keeps loads secure in transit.
- Cost per pallet: less film on every pallet means fewer rolls to buy and fewer reel changes.
- Consistency: consistent performance at speed, pallet after pallet.
Nano pallet wrap or nano stretch film?
They’re the same thing. Nano pallet wrap is simply another name for nano stretch film, used by many warehouses and suppliers.
Is nano film right for every load?
Nanofilm is built for demanding, high-volume machine wrapping. For heavy, tall or awkward loads, fibre-reinforced FiberFilm is often the better fit. Our guide to choosing between Nanofilm and FiberFilm explains the difference.

How to test it on your own pallets
Every machine and every load is different, so the only reliable test is your own line. We’ll measure your current film per pallet, run Nanofilm against it and show you the difference in containment, cost per pallet and consistency, in writing. Book a free benchmark.
